Scott Bukow brings 30 years in Functional Medicine and 10 in Functional Neurology. He was the former head educator for Metagenics/ The Institute for Functional Medicine globally for 17 years. As an educator to physicians/ practitioners worldwide, a certified practitioner, and a severe TBI survivor himself, he brings a unique combination of clinical education and lived experience. His recent talks have been at St. Jude's Brain Injury Recovery Network, The Brain Summit, and San Diego Brain Injury Foundation.

WHAT IF WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT BRAIN HEALTH FROM THE WRONG ANGLE or JUST ONE ANGLE? It's a mystery I began solving 11 years ago and our brain's health is greatly affected by our gut, body's immune system, blood brain barrier, microvascular health and the brain's immune system.
My Brain Mechanic was named because a car is not just the engine. It's abilty to operate depends on the electrical system, the transmission, compuers etc. If we help reesatblish all the broken parts we get a car ( A Brain) that can now run properly. We need to look at Brain Health with not just nootropics, but all of the highly interconnected parts. If one is not functional it knocks the others out.
The Gut-Brain Axis alone is a huge factor in brain health. My work goes into all the systems to optimize brain health and function.
